Magic Herbs is to some the most enchanting song cycle ever written! You should read the poetry as you listen to the music. Symphony No 1, the "Levendia" Symphony, is Kalomiris most popular work. Together with the Greek Dances by Skalkottas, this  is the most popular piece of Greek "classical" music. Often frowned upon by critics for its loud youthful passion it is an unqualified success with the public wherever and whenever performed.
